Organizations We Love

The Utah Working Parents Alliance is an organization founded to advocate for policies that benefit working families. We find inspiration in the work done by a number of national organizations that focus on child, education, and workforce policy.

UWPA seeks to bring together working parents in Utah to use the great work done by these organizations to advocate for policy change in our state, counties, and cities.

PL+US (Paid Leave for the United States) is an organization advocating for paid leave for a variety of reasons, whether parental, medical, or to care for sick family members.

First Five Years Fund is an organization advocating for high quality early education to improve the lives of children (and society as a whole) and provide reliable, affordable care.

The 19th* News is a non-profit newsroom that reports on gender, politics, and policy. It was founded in 2020 to celebrate the centennial of the 19th amendment, which gave women the right to vote. They have excellent coverage on child care and working parents.

The Center for American Progress is a think tank which does research on social issues and policy proposals, and keeps tabs on legislation on early childhood education and care.

MomsRising is an advocacy organization which focuses on many areas of policy affecting working parents and children.
